A large window can be the best feature of a capsule home: it opens the space, connects it to a garden and transforms the interior experience. Enjoying it throughout the year means choosing for the actual location, rather than the catalogue view alone.
Orientation changes how the same home behaves
Orientation, surrounding shade and glazed area influence solar gains. Before selecting a model, draw its position on the plot and consider morning and afternoon sun. Also check whether a pergola or external shading could form part of the project.
Ask the supplier about the glass, frame and proposed shading. Thermal transmittance and solar factor describe different properties: limiting heat loss is not the same as controlling solar gains. A professional should assess the appropriate combination for your climate.
A bigger air conditioner is not the whole answer
Review the envelope, shading and ventilation before sizing heating and cooling equipment. Request an assessment reflecting actual occupancy and use, particularly for a permanent home or accommodation occupied during the hottest months.
Ask where the outdoor unit will sit, how noisy it will be and how it can be maintained. Equipment that works well but occupies the only usable terrace corner deserves reconsideration before manufacture.
Make a visit informative
If you visit an installed unit, ask about its orientation, climate and shading system. A comfortable visit on a cool morning does not establish summer performance. Seek data or a technical explanation alongside personal impressions.
