A capsule may arrive with lights, sockets and a distribution board. That describes equipment, not all the documentation for a completed installation at its destination. Before buying, clarify who coordinates the module interior with the site and who documents the result.
The certificate relates to an installation
ITC-BT-04 of Spain’s Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation addresses documentation and commissioning. It distinguishes installations requiring a project from those requiring a technical design memorandum, and provides for checks, an installation certificate and submission to the competent regional authority. An initial inspection by a control body applies in the relevant cases, not indiscriminately to every home.
Do not buy a badge without a defined scope
As an editorial purchasing principle, ask documents to identify the unit and the equipment configuration ordered. A component report, factory test or commercial badge does not by itself explain which parts of the final installation were checked. Give the documentation to the competent professional or company working at the destination.
Make the factory–site boundary explicit
Request a responsibility diagram: what the factory supplies, what is installed outside, and who checks the connection between them. Ask whether the quotation includes final documentation and processing, or only module manufacture. Where an answer depends on the plot, record the missing information before accepting a fixed price.
Switching on is not the end of the process
A lamp lighting up during a visit does not replace the required checks and documents. Keep instructions and installation identification with the rest of the handover file. This guide does not calculate cable sizes, protection or contracted power, nor authorise temporary connections. The technical and administrative solution must be reviewed for the actual installation.
A checklist to take to the conversation
| Before buying | Answer worth obtaining |
|---|---|
| Scope | Module interior or complete installation at destination? |
| Responsibilities | Who executes, checks and issues each document? |
| Design | Which documentation applies to this installation? |
| Handover | What will the owner receive, and which filing is included? |
