A capsule home frame must work during transport, lifting and building use. A contractor needs to know which situations were checked and which documents accompany the unit. A steel datasheet or a photograph of supports cannot answer this alone.
Separate the design situations
Our proposed quality review starts with three load models: transport, placement and service on the site. Identify mass and centre of gravity, lifting points, supports, connections and components sensitive to movement. Glazing, seals or doors may determine functional acceptance even when the frame is strong enough.
Spain’s DB SE AE treats wind action through basic pressure, exposure and pressure coefficients. Advertising resistance to one gust speed is insufficient: the check must match location, geometry and openings. Roof suction and anchor uplift deserve their own assessment.
The foundation belongs to the system
Ground screws may be an option, but diameter alone does not establish capacity. Design needs ground information and checks for compression, tension, horizontal actions and movement. Removable supports also do not settle the installation’s planning status.
Suggested handover documents
- Design calculations with revision and intended site.
- Support, connection and lifting drawings.
- Material identification and corrosion protection suited to exposure.
- Assembly procedure and recorded site checks.
- A person responsible for approving changes between factory design and site installation.
