Separate product building and site
The product file identifies performance and applicable documentation. The building file substantiates the solution for the intended use and destination rules. The site file addresses planning compatibility, layout and local procedures. These layers may share documents but are not interchangeable.
The European Commission describes the European Technical Assessment route for certain products and CE marking. Its scope must be checked against the applicable specification and intended use. CE documentation for components or a kit does not mean any installation obtains planning permission.
A practical export matrix
- Identified country, region, municipality and site.
- Intended use and occupancy conditions.
- A local professional reviewing the site project.
- Reusable manufacturer documents and documents requiring adaptation.
- Translations, units, revisions and responsibility for each deliverable.
- Written authority enquiry where classification is uncertain.
Pricing the adaptation
