Two-bedroom capsule homes: two beds do not always mean two bedrooms

A capsule home can provide several sleeping places without offering two independent bedrooms. If you plan to live with children, share with another person or keep a room for work, that distinction changes the purchase. Before choosing an exterior photograph, ask the supplier to show how the home works with everyone inside.

This guide focuses on bedroom separation and the configuration actually quoted. It complements our floor-plan and year-round-living guides; it does not replace checks on the project, site or permissions.

Three descriptions that do not mean the same thing

“Two beds” describes furniture; “two rooms” may refer to spaces with different uses; “two bedrooms” describes a more specific programme but still needs a drawing. A convertible sofa can suit occasional guests while being inconvenient as an everyday bed. Curtains between sleeping areas may provide some visual privacy without resolving noise or supporting independent routines.

There is no automatic equivalence between these sales descriptions. We recommend writing down the use you need: two people sleeping at different times, a separate child’s room or a room that stays available while the kitchen is used.

Three catalogue examples that help frame the right question

Volferda lists E8 as “1/2 Bed” and describes its 11.5-metre Apple Cabin A1 as adaptable to one or two bedrooms. These are configurations advertised by the brand, not evidence that every unit with that name includes your preferred layout. Request the drawing for the quoted version.

Luban describes X70 as having a two-room layout. That wording alone does not confirm two independent bedrooms. Ask the supplier to identify each room’s use and its separating doors on the drawing.

Capsule Castle describes D8 as having two bedrooms and one bathroom and publishes a reference plan. This provides a starting point for comparing layouts; it does not establish availability, final cost or approval for use as a home at your destination.

These examples come from official pages reviewed on 23 October 2026. They are supplier statements and documents, without a CasasCápsula factory visit. This is neither a ranking nor a selection of models approved for Spain.

Trace the route to the bathroom while someone is asleep

Follow the route from each bed to the bathroom and exit. Does it cross the other bedroom? Does the bathroom door open into a space that becomes a bed at night? Can someone open the fridge without disturbing the person sleeping beside it?

A sales plan can show furniture with all doors closed and conceal everyday conflicts. Request a dimensioned version showing open doors and cupboards. Check measurements against the furniture you intend to use rather than assuming that objects in a rendering are reliably scaled.

Privacy and comfort: questions for each room

Ask which partitions and doors separate the rooms and how the supplier proposes to address noise. A door does not establish acoustic performance. If a test is supplied, ask the relevant professional whether it applies to a component or the completed assembly and to your purchased configuration.

Also request an explanation of ventilation and temperature control in each bedroom with its door closed. An air-conditioning unit in the living area does not itself demonstrate comfort in every room. Answers should address the intended location and use; this guide does not calculate airflow or equipment capacity.

When should you compare a larger prefab home?

If adding the second bedroom removes dining space, storage or a practical circulation route, widen your comparison. Another capsule layout or a larger modular home may make more sense. The decision is about making your required programme work rather than squeezing the maximum number of beds into the smallest footprint.

Compare offers with the same bedroom count and equipment. An empty unit and a furnished one have different scopes. Do not automatically treat transport, supports or connections as part of the factory price.

Agree the layout in writing before reserving

Request the model and version, drawing date, included furniture list and change-approval procedure. Where a layout is customised, confirm the price and lead time associated with that work. Keep the accepted drawing with the quote: a generic catalogue image does not identify the delivered configuration.

Documentation and permitted use need separate review with professionals at the destination. Two bedrooms on a drawing do not by themselves establish that a module is an authorised dwelling.
