Capsule homes are also offered with two storeys. Gaining area vertically or separating activities can be attractive, but it introduces decisions that a single-storey capsule does not present in the same way. Request a plan for each level and a vertical section explaining the complete home.
Volferda D 8 serves as a catalogue example here. We have not visited or technically tested the unit or established approval for installation in Spain. Its code identifies this supplier’s product and should not be confused with another brand’s D 8.
What the manufacturer actually publishes
Volferda includes D 8 in its two-storey category and declares areas of 47.6 m² and 27 m² for the two levels. The specification separates standard from optional equipment, placing the kitchen among the options. These are commercial statements reviewed on 23/10/2026, not certified usable floor areas or proof of an equipped home at a price discussed informally.
Ask first which drawing and specification will identify your order. Two drawn levels do not establish the independent-bedroom count, open areas or space outside the enclosed interior.
Stair space is part of the purchase
Trace the route from the entrance to each sleeping area and bathroom. Request stairs, landings, open doors and headroom in section. A bed fitting upstairs is only part of the question: picture carrying luggage, cleaning and using the bathroom at night.
As a buying exercise, consider an occupant who does not want to use the stairs. Which functions remain available at entrance level? The answer helps assess everyday practicality; it does not replace project-specific accessibility and safety checks.
Two storeys do not make every capsule stackable
Request documents identifying the offered two-level assembly, connections and proposed supports. A picture of two stacked volumes does not establish that two units from another range can be placed on top of each other. That needs a defined solution assessed for the site.
Identify who resolves the interface between levels: structure, envelope, services and finishes. The buyer’s job is to establish deliverables and responsibilities, not improvise a connection design.

Transport needs to describe the specific order
The D 8 page gives general information about complete or dismantled delivery and says installation is not included. That is not an individual logistics plan for your unit. Request the shipping breakdown, shipment-ready dimensions, destination work and contracted assistance scope.
If the upper floor or equipment changes, request a document review too. Conditions for a different single-storey capsule should not automatically carry over.
When it may make sense
It is worth studying if separate levels meet a real need and the site allows the proposed project. Compare a single-storey home meeting the same programme too: bedrooms, storage and everyday use. Decide through function and a complete budget, rather than adding catalogue areas without understanding their use.
